Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport

Project Overview:

J.B. Steel provided the fabrication and erection of the tower’s complex upper-level structural steel systems, including the occupied ring structure (bulge) and air traffic control cab. To improve safety and efficiency, these steel assemblies were constructed at ground level and lifted into place atop the nearly 200-foot-tall tower using highly coordinated critical crane picks.

The project required extensive engineering coordination, custom rigging solutions, and precision installation to align structural steel components with the precast concrete tower shaft. J.B. Steel successfully executed the erection of the tower’s most technically demanding structural elements, helping deliver a modern FAA-compliant facility that supports the continued growth of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
