Grand Challenges Research Building

Project Overview:

The Grand Challenges Research Building required a structural system capable of supporting highly flexible research space while accommodating future changes in laboratory layouts and building systems. J.B. Steel fabricated and erected the structural steel frame for the seven-story facility, providing the primary structural backbone for the interdisciplinary research environments and collaborative workspaces.

The completed steel package established the framework for one of the University of Arizona’s most significant recent research investments, creating adaptable learning spaces to evolve with future scientific programs.
